Markets are heading into the October jobs report with risk appetite already weakened by the Nov 5 equity selloff. A payroll gain near 60K and unemployment at 4.2% would not settle the rate debate on their own, but they could test whether firmer labor conditions are broad enough to reshape December expectations.
The uncertainty is whether one report confirms a trend or merely adds noise.
